The yearly national event for the Meat Goat Society is the Boer Goat Congress, Boer Goat Course, and the Midwest Buck Sale, on the first Saturday in June each year. It is an event that is held annually in Sedalia, Missouri, at the state fairgrounds. The learning event week is the Goat Expo and the Midwest Buck Sale. This event provides an opportunity for all goat breeders to come together to share ideas, knowledge, learning experiences, and genetics. All goat farmers and breeders will create meat for the market. When breeders come together and share stock, other goat farmers become familiar with each one of the different breeds. The learning week is for large and small breeders alike and they will find value in the daily discussions about goats.
All About Goats:
Lincoln University has a Midwest Goat producers Course that covers all things goat. There are speakers each day beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 3:00 pm. Topics may include, nutrition, feeding whole grains and by-products, foot trimming, rib-eye and loin ultra sound techniques, drawing blood, vaccinations and why, and much more. This is a medium to advanced, in-depth course.
Each year we want to provide a Boer Goat Course that is taught by two or more high level, Senior judges from America, South Africa, or Australia. The opportunity to provide top level instructors, provides a fantastic learning opportunity for breeders across the USA.

The more breeds and breeders that attend, the better. We learn more together in cooperation and communication. The learning week is for Meat, Fiber, and Dairy Goats.
Saturday, Free Value Added Vendor Day. Vendors can be anyone that creates something from owning goats.
